Kodoku no Gurume (Season 1): Subbing Project (Complete)

Kodoku no Gurume (Tokyo TV, Winter Edition 2012) or "Solitary Gourmet" is a live action drama adaptation of the manga by Qusumi Masayuki (story) and Taniguchi Jiro (art). There are two main stars in the drama. One is Matsushige Yutaka as Inogashira Goro, a private merchant who personally runs his imported dry goods business on his own. Being a man of a few words, he prefers to live an uncomplicated, solitary lifestyle. He smokes but doesn't drink alcohol. He also has a very healthy appetite. The other star is the food. In between meetings with clients in various towns, Inogashira-san makes it a point to visit different eateries, try out their tasty dishes, and discover the best way to eat them. These eateries are real places in Tokyo serving the actual food featured in the drama. A bonus mini-segment at the end features manga author, Qusumi visiting these places and interviewing their real owners.

I watched episode 1! It was even better with subs! I had no idea the guy in the end segment was the manga author, which is so cool to see. And it was odd how much the actress looked so much like the real proprietress!

Green papers sound unappetizing unless they're dollar bills. lol

I would like to try shingen bukuro but I don't think I can get tofu pouches anywhere here. :(
But the meatball-peppers are certainly doable.

I'm not sure which I like seeing more: Goro's absolutely voracious, almost glutinous, eating style; or Qusumi's delicate-and-delighted way of enjoying food. They both make food look so delicious!

Hi!

I read there gonna be a 2nd season of this. I would like to ask you: Are you planning to sub it?
I liked the 1st season. It is true, that the 2nd half of episodes whne the mangaka was filmed, how he eats and stuff wasnt so intresting. But the Goro's part was so unique I really liked this dorama. My favortite episode was when he went fishing. :)
