Ep. 4: "Shizuoka Oden of Urayasu, Chiba Prefecture"

Episode Synopsis. Our solitary protagonist travels outside Tokyo, this time to Chiba where he has an appointment with a staff from a popular wedding venue. Inogashira-san arrives in Shin-Urayasu, and marvels at the Western American-style lay-out of the town. Later on, his tour of the wedding facilities brings up certain memories for him... the time when he was in Paris with a famous actress. He ponders whether he has regrets about not ending up with her, and yet gets distracted by feelings of hunger. He goes in search for a place to eat and ends up in a stylish restaurant known as "Loco Dish..."

Shin-Urayasu. Located in Urayasu, Chiba. Shin-Urayasu means "New Urayasu," so-called because it is a new land-filled area in Tokyo Bay, intently designed to have an American-inspired lay-out.

The Art Grace Club. Some of you may recognize the wedding venue as the filming location for Hana Yori Dango's mansion of Todo Shizuka (For me, it was the leaf-shaped chairs that did it... lol sorry, HanaDan fan here ^^).
Shizuoka Oden. What makes it different from other kinds of oden are the broth (made from beef tendons or sinews) and its use of dark, strong soy sauce. It takes on a darker color compared to other oden because the broth is commonly replenished rather than discarded.
(info: wiki)
Nerimono. A term used for all types of fish cakes (kamaboko, hanpen, etc.).
(info: bookmice)
AKB48. I'm sure you know who they are. Just in case you don't, "48" is originally, the number of their members (as of now, there's 64 of them).

Did the ume flower bloom? This old song is called "Ume wa Saitaka" which sings about the advent of springtime.
