 "0.5 no Otoko" (The 0.5 Man) is a WOWOW production (Spring, 2023). Tachibana Masaharu (Matsuda Ryuhei) is an unemployed 40-year-old who lives with his parents, Keiko (Fubuki Jun) and Osamu (Kiba Katsumi), in their old family home. He used to work for a big company but for some reason, he became a recluse, and stays in his room most of the time, playing online games. Despite that, he is also a much respected player in the gaming world. However, his daily routine suddenly becomes topsy-turvy. The old house he lives in has been turned into a modern two household home, accomodating two households: himself and his parents, and his younger sister Saori (Usuda Asami) and her family which includes a rambunctious little nephew, and his young, moody teen niece, Ema (Shiratori Tamaki). As the two households try to adjust living under the same roof, clashes inevitably occur, primarily regarding childcare responsibilities and chores. Saori also objects to the way Keiko still dotes on Masaharu, asking her to let him be independent, causing tension in the household. However, Masaharu gradually regains a life of interacting with people due to such changes in his environment. It's a family drama for a new age that will surely make you laugh and cry.
