Lymphoma . According to wiki, "a type of blood cancer that occurs when (...) white blood cells that form a part of the immune system and help protect the body from infection and disease, divide faster than normal cells or live longer than they are supposed to. Lymphoma may develop in the lymph nodes, spleen, bone marrow, blood or other organs and eventually they form a tumor... Treatment might involve chemotherapy and in some cases radiotherapy and/or bone marrow transplantation, and lymphomas can be curable depending on the histology, type, and stage of the disease."

Hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. Kota's sister became his donor to treat his cancer. It means her multipotent hematopoietic stem cells were "harvested" and transplanted to Kota, deriving from either her bone marrow or peripheral blood. Theme song. This SP's title and theme song, "Kyou no Hi wa Sayonara" is from the 1966 song written by Shoichi Kaneko and sung by Moriyama Ryoko. It's still sung by children, particularly by the Boys and Girls Scouts of Japan. Translation of lyrics below from animelyrics with some modified lines from danburi.

Forever, without end
Let's dream for tomorrow
And walk the path of hope

Like the birds winging through the sky
We will live freely
So long, farewell for today

Let's treasure
The joy of trusting each other
So long, farewell for today
Until the day we meet again

簡単レンジで茶碗蒸し (Chawanmushi)

Ingredients: 1 serving
Egg - 1 beaten
Water - 150cc*
Dashi no moto - 1/2tsp*
Salt - 1/4 tsp*
Mirin - 1/2 tsp*
Soy Sauce (light) - 1/2 tsp*
Sugar - 1/2 tsp*

Steps:
Step 1: Mix all ingredients marked * in microwaveable dish and microwave it for a minute with 600w power to melt Dashi no moto.
Step 2: When Step 1 item becomes cool to touch, mix in the beaten egg.
Step 3: Put meat and/or other ingredients in serving dish and pour in Step 2 item using strainer.
Step 4: Put cling wrap “loosely” on dish and microwave it for 7 minutes with 200W power。

Tip: Keep already cooked ingredients such as boiled spinach and shrimp in the freezer for a quick chawan-mushi.

Danburi's Notes:
"I also make several servings in the pot (Step 1 & 3) along with vegetables and small pieces of chicken.
Let it cool and put each serving in a small microwavable tupperware and keep in refrigerator.
When you’re ready to eat, heat the mixture in the microwave 600W for about a minute and then put egg (step 3) and follow the step 4."
