Episode 4: "Black Fang"

Episode Synopsis. Serizawa is in the middle of being interviewed when he gets a call from a distressed Aoto. He immediately rushes over to her apartment only to be asked to kill a cockroach. As they were leaving the apartment building, they were approached by a strange man. He implores them to intervene in a dispute over pets left in a room by their deceased owner. These pets turn out to be exotic spiders, one of which had bitten its owner while it was being fed, resulting to the latter's death. Serizawa and Aoto later consult Enomoto for his opinion regarding the spider room where the victim was found.
"It was a completely locked room," Enomoto declares after his inspection. The room's door is equipped with a modern lock that is hard to pick. The windows cannot be locked from the outside. All of the gaps were sealed up with tape. No one, not even a baby spider can get in or out. With this finding, the victim's death due to a spider's bite had to be accidental. And yet, there are two likely suspects who could benefit from his death: his lovely widow, and his friend who is also a fellow spider enthusiast.

Drama Notes:
Ep. 4 Murder weapon and clue:

Warning: Spoiler ahead... For ep. 4, spider web was shown (Leftmost pic); The middle pic shows a figure of a black spider (which some say was the 'skin' of Cameron) coming down on a grey spider (said to be the wandering spider); and the rightmost pic shows a spider's silhouette crawling in from left side of the screen.
Tarantula. Some of those shown in the drama are Rose Hair, Indian Ornamental, Giant Whiteknee, and Haitian Brown. The Chacho Giant Golden Striped Knee is one of the most docile ones and are ideal pets for beginners.
Brazilian Wandering Spider. Also known as "Banana Spider" because it tends to hide in banana bunches or plantations. It is known to wander at night on the jungle floor instead of residing in a lair or web, hence the name.

"Makes me feel like I've been there." The travel guide books that were shown on the shelves in Aoto's room include places like Belgium, Italy, Sri Lanka, Turkey, London, India, Ho Chi Minh, Hong Kong, Vienna, Paris, Seoul, Taipei, Denmark, Galapagos Islands, Amalfi (which was also the title of a movie that starred both Toda Erika and Sato Koichi), and Caribbean Islands.

Mugwort. Also known as 'sagebrush' or 'wormwood' and 'yomogi' in Japanese. In Japan, it is commonly used for kusa mochi (green mugwort rice cake filled with bean paste).

Calm and Fun People. "Although it's my first time to act with Ohno-san and Koichi-san, both are such calm and fun people so the filming scene has a very mature atmosphere. I've been trying to stay alert and pay attention to their acting. In this drama, our conversations show each of our personalities very well and although sometimes we may have vague conversations, one is not listening to the other, I feel that's an interesting part. So when Koichi-san comes up with a new line and changes the scene, I would like to be ready in a second so I do try to stay alert and be able to feel the change."
