Here are some drama notes for Oh-chan's winter SP...

Tokusatsu. It's a form of Japanese culture/entertainment that involves live action drama or films that depict heroes, monsters, and villains in a fantasy or science fiction setting. Examples of it are the popular franchises of Kamen Rider series and Godzilla.

Akama Shrine and "Hoichi the Earless." A Shinto shrine located in Shimonoseki, Yamaguchi Prefecture, the hometown of Shotaro and his senpai, Komoto. Before it became a Shinto shrine, it was originally a Buddhist shrine where the legend of "Hoichi the Earless" took place. Hoichi was a blind minstrel who attempted to hide himself from a ghost. He had covered his body (except for his ears) with protective markings that rendered him invisible to the spirit who was haunting him. Since his ears were still visible, they were torn off by the ghost, making Hoichi live the rest of his days as "The Earless One."
