Last Episode: "The Glass Hammer" Part 2

Episode Synopsis. Serizawa and Aoto continue to ponder on the murder case of a president of a nursing care company. Enomoto is meanwhile detained by the police as a person of interest, for his past connections with the victim. However, he gets released after the vice president, the main suspect in the case, admits that he may have committed the murder in his sleep...

Enomoto goes back to working on the case. He suspects that the president himself had staged the sniping incident prior to his murder. For him this was an important clue in order to solve the case. He also thinks the president was killed by someone who used the nursing care robot inside the office. However, he has to find a way how the culprit managed to fool the robot's safety program. And also, he suspects that a person has been monitoring their moves since the start. Team Enomoto must take all these into account to finally break open the lock of their last mystery case.

Drama Notes:

Ep. 11 Clues and Hints (Warning: Spoilers Ahead!)

Pic 1: A crack appears on the figure's head; Pic 2: a shower of diamonds falls on a smiling Enomoto; Pic 3: the robot rolls in; Pic 4: a bowling ball smashes the glass box where Aoto is; Pic 5: A figure with eyes and the words 'Identity' and the initials, MS and AS; Pic 6: billiard balls in front of Serizawa; Pic 7: a plane flies overhead; and Pic 8: Enomoto's glasses

White zircons. Zircons are not really 'fake' but they're real gemstones, and are substitute for diamonds because they're inexpensive. It is not to be confused with cubic zirconias which can be created in a lab.

Breaking the number code. The numbers on the drama's title are said to be codes that can be plotted on the radar chart using Excel. A figure of a keyhole will appear. It looks askew but if you move the last number to first, key hole will be upright. We verified it and it's true. Above diagram was made by danburi. :)

Gender Clues. The viewer will know the culprit's gender by looking at the positions of Serizawa and Aoto during Enomoto's opening monologue. If Serizawa is standing on the left side of the screen (Enomoto's right), then it's a male culprit. If it's Aoto, it's a female.

Differences from the novel. (Warning: Spoilers Ahead!) In the book, "The Glass Hammer" Enomoto has his own security supply store company called "F&F" or "Forewarned and Forearmed." Serizawa's character is not in the book while there is a slight attraction felt between Enomoto and Aoto. The culprit, Sato Manabu's parents were killed by the yakuza, and he had no grudge with the victim. Enomoto (possibly) stole only 24 of 619 diamonds (in the drama, it was 1/6).

Cute office chairs! Kenchikumokei, the company who worked on some of the scale models used in the drama reveal pics of the tiny office chairs they made for the last two episodes. They're made of MDF (medium density fiberboard) and styrene.

Otsukaresama, Team Enomoto and drama staff!...
Team Enomoto gives their thanks as they finish their last scenes separately. Messages were taken from
Fuji TV website (translation by danburi):

"Thank you for the great work! Sorry to cause you so much trouble for almost 4 months. Whenever I go out, it rained.. and snowed.. even had hail storm… (laugh) But I was able to do the ultimate part that it gave me valuable experiences. All the staff, thank you very much for all your assistance. I am most grateful. Tamaki-san and Toda Erika-chan, you still have filming... I’m sorry! I’m leaving! I’m going home (laugh)!!!"

"Thank you for great work! I never thought it’ll take 4 months… (laugh). Although it was a lot of work, I think I was fortunate that I was able to stay smiling. This drama filming site was so much fun, even though I had to fight and struggle sometimes but I was able to leave everything behind when it was done. It was a little sad that the three of us could not finish at the same time but I’m glad that I was able to finish with all the staff."

~ Toda Erika (June 21, 2012) (pic: fujitv)

"Although I have over 30 years of acting experience, but I feel like I learned a new way of creating the drama with this one. I’m leaving first with Enomoto and Junko behind but everyone, keep up the great work. Thank you very much!"
