Meitantei Katherine 2015 SP: Subbing Project (Complete)

Meitantei Katherine 2015 SP (5 Sept. 2015, TV Asahi) is a mystery suspense story based on the Yamamura Misa's 1979 novel, "Hana no Hitsugi". It stars Charlotte Kate Fox as Katherine Turner, the lovely and rich daughter of the US vice president. Katherine is known in Japan as a celebrated socialite. But not a lot of people know that she also possesses sharp insight and brilliant deductive skills. She is in Kyoto, looking for people from the ikebana world, with whom she can partner with in running her family's flower arrangement business in the US. As a result, all the top schoolmasters of the flower arrangement society are lining up and currying favor with her, hoping to be chosen. These include the masters of the three top schools of ikebana: Togo Ryufu (Ryu Raita) schoolmaster of Higashi-ryu; Nishikawa Hou (Enoki Takaaki) of Kyo-ryu, and Yamano Hanako (Hamada Mari) of Shin-ryu. Katherine also wants to meet with top ikebana artist Ogawa Maiko (Fueki Yuko) whom she met in New York and had become her close friend. However, Maiko has not been answering her calls, and seems to be avoiding her for some reason. Meantime, Hamaguchi Ichiro (Tanihara Shosuke), an associate professor at a Kyoto university is forced by his uncle and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hamaguchi Yukio (Kotaro Satomi) to serve as Katherine's escort throughout her stay. Ichiro is not pleased with having to look after a rich socialite, and Katherine senses it, thus the two got off to a bad and awkward start. But then, Maiko is mysteriously murdered. Katherine vows to get to the bottom of the case and to find her killer, while delving deeper into the profit-driven and intrigue-ridden side of the flower arrangement world...
