"Akuma ga Kitarite Fue wo Fuku" (28 July 2018, NHK) is the second installment following "Gokumontou" SP shown in 2016. This time, Yoshioka Hidetaka portrays the famous detective Kindaichi Kosuke. Right after the war, a viscount named Tsubaki Hidesuke (Masuoka Toru) commits suicide after being suspected in a tragic jewelry shop robbery. His family then experiences strange occurrences. His wife Akiko (Tsutsui Mariko) thinks Hidesuke has come back from the dead to haunt her. However, their daughter Mineko (Shida Mirai) believes her father had been tormented by someone he called "the devil" so she asks Kindaichi to take part in a seance, meant to contact Hidesuke's spirit. That night, Mineko's great uncle is killed in a locked room. Kindaichi goes to Suma, Kobe, believing that the answer to the identity of the culprit can be found there. There, he discovers a stone lantern, the only remaining part of a destroyed villa where a noble family used to frequent before the war. On it were the written words, "The devil was born here"...
