Shinya Shokudo 2 Drama Notes (Ep. 7)

earth_colorsStory 17 (Ep7 of S2): "Pickled Cabbage"
Episode Synopsis. Tsukiko (Ichikawa Miwako), a single woman who works as a successful screenwriter, often goes to Master's diner to drink sake and to eat pickled cabbage. She likes pickled cabbage so much she orders for more so she could take some home. She tells one of the regulars, Kosuzu (Ayata Toshiki) that her pet cat has been biting and scratching her, each time she comes home late. He says that her cat is jealous... "Because of a man," he tells her. "He could smell him on you."
On a cab-ride home, Tsukiko learns that taxi driver, Take (Hotaru Yukijiro) comes from Miyagi. He says he misses the "taste of home" which happens to be pickled cabbage. She gives him her take-out order of the said dish, much to his delight. Little does she know, though, that her affair with married TV producer Nose (Tanaka Tetsushi) will soon become the hot topic of tabloid headlines...

Character Spotlight: The Veteran Mama-san and the Young Pretty Patron
Kosuzu (Ayata Toshiki). An original character from the manga. He has been running a local gay bar for 48 years. He is enamored with the gangster boss, Ryu. One of the regular patrons of "Meshi-ya," his favorite order is tamagoyaki (sweet egg roll) with beer.
Adachi Saya (Hirata Kaoru). She was first seen in Story 12, as the sleeping customer with the gentle face. A younger sister of Detective Adachi, her usual order is fried chicken and highball. She is not part of the original manga. If you're wondering why she's often wearing a horizontally-striped shirt, she seemed to have taken the place of the character, Shima-san, a customer who is always depicted wearing a striped shirt in the manga.
