Episode Synopsis. It had been a bad week for Inogashira-san. The lone merchant is in the doldrums after experiencing several set-backs in his dry goods business. He travels to Eifuku, Suginami to get some fresh air and to meet with an old friend. However, his meeting fails to push through and so he ends up whiling away his time fishing alone at "Musashino-en Fishing Pond." He experiences a sudden need to eat, and decides to try out the fishing facilities' own canteen...

Donburi. The 'don' in 'Oyako-don.' Literally means 'bowl.' It refers to any rice bowl dish, usually steamed rice topped with ingredients such as meat and vegetables.

Surume. It's known as 'dried squid' but it's actually cuttlefish.
"Cola~." Danburi says, "It's written with a stretched sound at the end [コーラー instead of コーラ]. I think that when cola came to Japan, people didn't know much about it and most of them couldn't read the English name so they wrote it the way they heard it."
"I hate people who criticize ramen from a place like this..." According to danburi, Qusumi keeps referring to the eatery as 'a place like this,' probably because the old eatery gives him a sense of nostalgic vibes, much like how an American would view an old fashioned diner. The people he was referring to are probably those "who are very particular about the type of noodles and soup they eat at a ramen shop... Old style restaurants only have one style of Ramen on the menu. Basic Shoyu (soy sauce) based soup with thinner noodle and roast pork, bamboo and some bean sprouts." Nowadays, many ramen shops let "people choose different styles of ramen and soup."
