I can totally understand your views on literal translation, cos I also try to translate word to word every time as much as I can, though sometimes I'm stuck at finding the right expressions in English and just had to find another phrase.
From time to time I still watch dramas with subs, just to see how other translators translate certain things, and more often than not I'll find myself so incapable.
(yuizaki_libra here btw, in case you're thinking I'm a stalker maybe I'm kinda one :) Keep up the good work you're doing! ^^
