"TRUE COLORS", an NHK Premium Drama (Winter 2025) that stars Kurashina Kana as Tachibana Misaki, who had gained fame as a top photographer in the fashion world, along with the support of her assistant Ippei (Morinaga Yuki), and editor-in-chief who discovered and nurtured her, Makigami Shinya (Takito Kenichi). Just when she is about to reach the peak of her success, she is informed by her opthalmologist (Kaname Jun) that she has a serious, incurable eye disease. She returns to her hometown of Amakusa in despair, where she reunites with her childhood friend Shotaro (Maiguma Katsuya) and her high school teacher Kato (Kato Masaya). However, she has hesitations meeting again her family: her sister, Nanase (Hoshi Moeka) whom she left crying when she ran away from home 18 years ago, and her mother Shinobi (Kaku Chikaku) whom she hasn't forgiven for remarrying, to a man Taichiro (Watanabe Ken), 4 years after her father's death. Will she be able to crawl out of the depths of despair after being forced to retire? This is a human love story for adults that is the best recommendation for this winter, set in Tokyo, Amakusa, and Italy.
