VS Arashi 052517: Intro Talk Translated

Hi and thanks to those who recently subscribed to my blog. To those who don't know, there are a lot of LJ account users who transferred lately here to Dreamwidth, and many of them are Arashi fans. I don't follow back for personal reasons, nor do I always reply to your nice messages but I do read them and appreciate for taking the time to write to me. So as a way of thanks for the follow, here's a translation of VS Arashi (052517)'s intro talk (only). VS isn't really my favorite show, but I like their simple, small chit-chats. They may be silly talks but still, they give us bits and pieces of what goes on in their camaraderie and everyday lives.

Just talking about the weather and vinyl umbrellas...

I don't do hardsubs. And translating short convos like this intro is easier, faster, and convenient for me. So I might be doing stuff like this from time to time. I might as well come up with "Arashi-related" tag from now on. I also don't dl variety shows either, I only watch through streaming sites. VS Arashi 052517 Intro Talk:

S: We're entering the rainy season soon. Do you have umbrellas and rain gear?

J: No I don't.

S: Eh! You don't have those?

A: You don't use it?

J: No.

A: You're like an Italian, huh. Because they say Italians don't use umbrellas.

N: He's Italian, isn't he? He smells like Italy today.

M to N: Do you have one?

N: I have like a vinyl umbrella.

A: There's a lot of that going around, isn't it.

N: More and more people are using it.

S: That's the thing, since many are using vinyl umbrellas... I thought I'd have a good umbrella. So I bought a pretty expensive umbrella. Since it's a really good umbrella, I don't want to use it. I just keep it at home ever since.

M: You bought it in order not to use it, huh?

O: What about a folding umbrella?

S: You have one for a long time, right?

O: Yes.

M: It's a really small one that could fit inside a belt bag, right?

O: It's the exact size that could fit right in. It's around this small...

S: Do you still have it?

O: It's at home.

A: Was there a time that you used it?

O: Not recently but folding umbrellas are useful, you know.

S: Keeping a folding umbrella at home, then you're no different from me. You have to carry around the folding umbrella.
